For several years, I have been taking photographs of people’s hands while they work on handcrafted items. Sometimes it is artisans giving demonstrations at festivals, more often it is of my friends. This is a photo of one friend from a few years ago when she was teaching herself broomstick lace at one of our craft retreats.
The photo challenge was created by:
- Cathy from Nanacathydotcom
- Jane from Rainbowjunkiecorner
- Melissa from The Aran Artisan
- Sandra from Wild Daffodil
I love this picture of hands stitching.Lovely!
Thank you. My friends have gotten used to me zooming in on their hands while they are working.
The lace is beautiful!
I love the look of broomstick lace. I made a scarf from it for myself last year. I couldn’t bear to give it away.
Wonderful photo! I would love to see some more of your photo’s of people’s hands while they work on handcrafted items! 🙂
I’ll have to dig them out of the files. I really need to organize my online photos.
Interesting! My friend has been painting my hands whilst I crochet and sew!
There is something fascinating about hands at work.
What a wonderful theme for a collection of photos. And broomstick lace is new to me, I will enjoy looking that one up, thank you for the intro.
It’s a really different look. This tutorial has a lot of photos to show the steps. https://cultofcrochet.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/broomstick-lace-bracelet/ I use a large dowel. .
