I was given a small linen bag recently that contained some antique bone crafting items. A few crochet hooks, a bobbin lace bobbin, and a few other bits and pieces were included. They were too pretty to tuck away so I decided to frame some of them. I looked at shadow boxes but they were all so deep, then in the clearance section of Michael’s Crafts, I saw a fame with a deep bezel and thought I’d give that a try. I lined the frame with some linen I had gotten at the used fabric sale and the bezel was just deep enough to hold these small items. Now they are being displayed and enjoyed.
I’m not sure what that 2-pronged item is. Google now tells me it might be a hair stick, or it might be an appetizer fork. I’ll have to decide if it stays or not.
Gorgeous! About the two pronged item – perhaps a website specializing in lace such as http://laceioli.ning.com/ would be able to help. I’d love to know. At least they might be able to say if it has nothing to do with lace at all.
Thanks for the tip. I will do some more research!
Oh that is a neat idea
If I’m not going to use them, at least I can still enjoy them!
you could put them in a dish like unscented potpourri
That made me giggle.
I think this is perfect! Those items are wonderful but I would hate to use them and risk the damage. But this way, you get to enjoy them and get a cool piece of wall art.
This is my answer to something being “too nice to use” but still wanting to enjoy it.
