On Friday, while I was visiting my father-in-law in the hospital and working on crochet, he was watching what I was doing. It was the first day he’d been more alert and awake, so I started joking with him about how he needed to learn and explaining what I was making. He hasn’t been talking much, and when I asked him if he wanted me to make him something, He nodded. A scarf? He nodded again. Then I started talking about color choices and he wasn’t saying anything so I started being silly. Orange? Pink and purple stripes? Bright yellow? That’s when he said “blue”. It’s not much, but it means he was following the conversation and understanding what I was saying rather than just nodding in agreement at everything being said to him.
Before heading to see him in the morning, I found some leftover blue yarn and started his scarf.
Beautiful blue hope he likes it.
He seems to so far. He smiled when I showed it to him. 🙂
Oh, I hope this means he’s turning a corner!
He is! He’s actually being moved to a rehab facility today to get him strong enough to go back home. I’m hoping it works.
