Even when something doesn’t turn out the way I wanted it to, I have a hard time getting rid of it. Tuesday’s woven necklace is a prime example. I didn’t like it. I knew I would never use it. Every time I passed it sitting on the dining room table I sort of glared at it. But I did not toss it out, even though I thought about it. I thought about it a lot.
It was one of those days when my rhythm was off. I was not very productive, but it was still evening before I could sit down and work on any kind of project. Nothing was clicking. I kept thinking about that woven necklace. Then it hit me. I took yesterday’s project and unwove (de-weaved?) it. Leaving the chained lengths as they were, I knotted each end then tied the ends together. Suddenly, I had something that was usable. The clumpy woven necklace has become a multi-strand necklace.
I don’t think this will help my propensity to never throw anything away, but I ended up much happier with the result, and didn’t waste yarn.
I like both versions! You should definitely wear it! i feel its very organic! Another Beautiful project! btw…I absolutely love the name of your Blog!
Thanks! I may wear this one. The colors are light enough for the summer too.
