I wanted to keep the momentum going from Tuesday’s practice, so I stitched up a set of the coasters with the proper yarn and hook. Each one got easier and faster to make and I was able to complete these in an evening after dinner. For some reason one of them is a bit smaller than the others. (I have disguised that with the mug in the photo.) I thought I was using the same tension on all of them, but perhaps as I got more comfortable with the stitches I relaxed a bit.
These may become my summer small project replacing dishcloths as a way to stitch up something quickly after completing a larger project. The pattern can be found on The Green Dragonfly’s blog, complete with illustrated step-by-step photos. I love how lacy they look, but still have enough weight to do their duty under a damp glass.
cute!
Thanks. I remember my grandmother having a set in a similar pattern.
Very Nice, love the color!
Thanks! This was one of those skeins I bought without knowing what I would do with it just because I loved the color.
They are beautiful and I love the color you have chosen.
Thanks! I found some fun colors in Paton’s Grace yarn when I was playing with different cotton yarns.
They are so pretty! Love the color.
Thanks! I love how summery they look.
